Housing - 2019 - Conceptual
This was an optional summer project set by the university which involved the design of a “micro home”. A House which could be easily constructed and potentially moved around to different locations. Inspired by the portability of containers I decided to explore the idea of container homes. To understand how homes like these were built I did lots of research on existing examples. I was inspired by the idea of prefabricated housing, imagining a house as a piece of flatpack furniture which is delivered and self built by the owner. I used this opportunity to explore the individual sections which make up a building, modelling each layer for every wall floor and roof of the house encouraged me to think about the connections between each element.
